The Basics – Major Scale
A major scale is made up of seven notes, so a C major scale, starting on C, contains the following notes:
C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C
Chords:
C (C–E–G)
D minor (D–F–A)
E minor (E–G–B)
F (F–A–C)
G (G–B–D)
A minor (A–C–E)
B diminished (B–D–F)
Examples:
1 4 11
1 6 5 1
1 3- 4 5 5
1 = C
2– = D minor
3– = E minor
4 = F
5 = G
6– = A minor
7° = B diminished
Learn the new chords.
Move from one chord to the other FAST! This is to build speed and muscle memory. STILL…focus on QUALITY.
Now, practice with a SLOW strum.
Strum your chords slowly so each chord sounds good. Slow it even more…. and more!
