The Approach to the Inmost Cave
[1]Our invitation to approach the Inmost Cave is an invitation to engage the places in our hearts and lives that challenge us, provoke us, scare us, intrigue us, mystify us and sabotage us. Our hearts are the place of transformation; not outward conformity, which we can quite easily fake.
Jesus came to give us life in abundance; Satan works to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus will try to bring you into your deep heart, for healing and transformation; Satan will try to keep you out, to keep you in bondage and death. Remember that his tactics are to keep you from knowing who you are, and what you are capable of becoming: a child of the King and destined for the throne.
We need some preparation to go into our Inmost Caves.
We need to dismantle lies, move past the Threshold Guardians of our fears, and learn to receive from God. We’ve already begun some of these preparations,
“…the greatest treasures are guarded by our greatest fears.”[2]
